Careers Advice

Receiving the right careers information, advice and guidance has never been more important. Whatever your age or background we offer careers consultations with a qualified Careers Consultant to help with your career decisions. Our Careers Consultant (Loraine Bones) has an honours degree in Social Sciences, a post graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance, CIPD training as a Careers Coach, BPS level A certification in Occupational Testing and Morrisby profiling. She has extensive experience in industry and education, working with clients ranging from those seeking career developments to students looking for their first career positions or a place at university.

Careers advice and guidance is available to students at all stages of their career decision making process (options at 16+, 18+, or on graduation).
Our 1:1 careers interviews are tailored to meet the needs of each of our clients and may include:

  • 1:1 careers advice and guidance for students and young people.
  • Help to generate career ideas and action planning to facilitate career choice
  • Researching routes and options within Higher Education
  • Applying to University and advice on completing personal statements
  • Information, advice and guidance on employment and training routes
  • Employability skills including CV writing, job search skills and interview techniques.

Costs: £30 per 1 hour careers interview

In addition we can offer:

Psychometric Occupational Assessment - via the Morrisby Profile.

This is a comprehensive psychometric assessment tool which provides an objective and unbiased picture of your strengths and abilities. The test explores your ability levels (verbal, numerical, perceptual, spatial and mechanical) alongside ones personality profile, career preferences & interests, to form the basis of an extensive Guidance Report. The Career Consultant will then provide each candidate with their own printed guidance report detailing the results of the tests and suggested career areas considered appropriate for further exploration, (careers that match your talents and interests).
